Gutsy Walk Participant Engagement Connector- Ontario North

Gutsy Walk is Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s signature national fundraising event celebrated on the first Sunday of June each year. Thousands of people across Canada come together on one day to raise money to advance medical research and improve the lives of Canadians who are affected by these diseases.  

This role is virtual.  

All volunteer positions at Crohn’s and Colitis Canada require a conversation to discuss the role and your goals for volunteering. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Adhere to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada policies and procedures, including the Volunteer Code of Conduct.  
  • Access appropriate participant list(s) through Crohn's and Colitis Canada's volunteer hub. 
  • Utilize the script provided to conduct phone calls or leave voicemails, ensuring a clear and concise message. 
  • Practice active listening, maintain professionalism and be respectful. 
  • Take notes during each conversation, documenting important points and action items in the provided notes column. 
  • Communicate any follow-up needs or concerns with the relevant staff partner or the Gutsy Walk team. 
  • Safeguard confidential information and refrain from sharing any sensitive data during calls. 
  • ​Complete calls within the designated timeframe, adhere to designated calling hours (9am-9pm).

What you bring: 

  • Access to a reliable phone and internet connection. 
  • Knowledge of computer applications, such as email and data entry. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Previous experience in customer service, telemarketing, is an asset. 
  • Familiarity with Crohn's and Colitis Canada's mission and programs is a plus.
