Volunteers play an integral role in delivering our promise of finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of Canadians living with these chronic diseases. As a volunteer with Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, the impact of your efforts will be felt by the millions of Canadians affected by Crohn's or colitis today, and for years to come.
We are seeking individuals passionate about making a difference in their community to join a team of dedicated volunteers in the role of Community Fundraising Connector.
This role involves virtual and/or in-person interactions.
All volunteer positions at Crohn’s and Colitis Canada require a conversation to discuss the role and your goals for volunteering.
Are you the right fit for the team?
As the Community Fundraising Connector, you will provide support to local fundraising activities, including:
Adhering to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada policies and procedures, including the Volunteer Code of Conduct
Work closely with staff partner and other volunteers to identify and build new and existing local partnerships with the goal of driving revenue opportunities
Support relationships with local networks that immediately or in time will create, grow or sustain financial benefit to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada
Source and secure new fundraising opportunities while also helping to identify relationships that could expand to a regional or national level
Work to secure local prizing and gifting for the purpose of supporting local fundraising initiatives
Source and establish opportunities and relationships for Third Party events or having Crohn’s and Colitis Canada as the charity of choice
Time Commitment:
1-3 hours per week for ongoing support and liaison with staff partner, other volunteers
Evening and weekend activity is required to attend meetings and capture high traffic times. Some daytime availability is ideal for liaison with staff partner (phone calls, emails)
This role requires a commitment of a minimum of 1 year
What you bring:
Experience with community outreach, networking and comfortable making an ask
An established network of community connections and relationships, as well as an understanding of local industry and demographics
Excellent attention to detail, well organized and responsive to timely needs and opportunities
