World Ibd day 2023: The year of community

Hope is what drives this community. Hope gets us through our treatment cycles, our procedures, our surgeries and every other tough moment that comes with living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Over the last 12 months, we have worked with our community to help amplify messaging around patient advocacy. Whether that be access to treatments, disease awareness or a summation of all things IBD, the last year has been about making sure our community is heard, country wide.

In recognition of World IBD Day this year, in addition to PURPLE landmarks across the nation, we will be sharing THREE individual clips from patients currently facing the realities of dwindling treatment options in Canada.

Starting, May 19, at 12 pm ET, join the conversation for patient advocacy in the IBD community.

Light it up in purple 2023

Like every year, famous landmarks around the country will be lit up in purple as a sign of awareness for World IBD Day.

Whether it be Canada Place in British Columbia, Niagara Falls in Ontario or The Big Fiddle in Nova Scotia, the country shows out on World IBD Day, every year on May 19th.

Keep an eye on our social media channels or your home city, and wear that purple proudly!

JOIN OUR COMMUNITY AT GUTSY WALK

Another great action you can take to further awareness this World IBD Day is to sign up for your local Gutsy Walk!

Gutsy Walk is a fantastic way to get involved with the IBD community while we all work together to raise awareness—and funds—to grow support for all those living with Crohn’s or colitis and to further the research and resources our community needs. This year’s Gutsy Walk will take place on Sunday, June 4. Find a walk near you and sign up to get involved at gutsywalk.ca
