Madyson Smith

To look at Madyson you’d never know what she goes through on a day-to-day basis. On a good day, she’ll go to school, hang out with her friends and go to hockey practice.

But then the next day, she could have sharp stomach pains and suffer from extreme fatigue, sores in her mouth and joint pain.

Through multiple endoscopies, injections and infusions. Countless blood tests, failed medications and hospital trips, Madyson is determined not to let Crohn’s stop her.

  • At diagnosis, she was placed on a feeding tube for 12 weeks to help her body heal. Madyson insisted on living her life as normally as possible. She continued to play competitive hockey, unhooking from the tube to play and hooking back up after the game.

  1. In the past five years, Madyson has tried numerous medications and had multiple rounds of steroids and hospitalizations – but she’s never been in remission.
  2. Your support shows us that we are all in this together, and that with donors like you by our side, Madyson has every reason to believe that there will be a cure in her lifetime.

As parents, it’s heartbreaking to see the struggles that Madyson has had to face in her young life. I would trade places with her in a second if I could.alkv
