Imagine Canada accreditation

Crohn’s and Colitis Canada Proud to Achieve Imagine Canada Accreditation

In May of 2014, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada reached a noteworthy milestone sought out by many Canadian charities - Imagine Canada accreditation status. This considerable achievement is something that we are extremely proud of, as it strengthens public confidence in our organization knowing that we adhere to a set of strict operating standards.

The Standards Program’s goals are to build excellence within Canada’s charities and nonprofits through common standards of practice and to strengthen confidence in the sector. Accredited organizations are awarded a program Trustmark so they can showcase this achievement in their materials, such as tax receipts, program brochures, websites and more.

These 73 Canada-wide standards are designed for charities and nonprofits to demonstrate their  compliance in five fundamental areas:

  • board governance
  • financial accountability and transparency
  • fundraising
  • staff management
  • volunteer involvement

Participation in this program assists us in demonstrating our high level of transparency and helps to strengthen public confidence in our and the nonprofit sector as a whole.

Canada’s nonprofit and voluntary sector is the 2nd largest in the world. Achieving Imagine Canada accreditation status has allowed Crohn’s and Colitis Canada to join a select group of charities that hold themselves accountable to their donors and the very highest of operating standards.
